Jinx is afraid, holding onto Vi to let her burden the responsibilities of reality. In just the beginning scene, Jinx’s reliance on Vi’s guidance alongside Vi’s abrupt maturity is reflected. Jinx’s gaze wanders about, looking primarily towards Vi while grasping her hand. Vi stares directly at the body, as does Vander. The attention draws towards a dead corpse of a clearly important character, likely the parents of Via nd Jinx. His eyes reflect the same tone of acceptance as Vi’s. As he walks into the shot, his shoulders droop as well, mirroring Vi’s posture. The scene then introduces Vander, shown beating the life out of another person. The blue-haired child raises her shoulders up, visibly afraid of confronting the reality she faces. Jinx, still holding onto Vi’s hand, looks fearfully towards the scene. Her shoulders droop, displaying her acceptance of the harsh realities. Vi’s stare is characterized by growth, attempting to soak in the setting while leaving her childhood behind. This introduces the parallels between the two characters, setting the ground for their motivations and plights. The younger child opens her eyes to glance at Vi, and then stares out in shock alongside her. The younger of the two, Jinx, is seen holding Vi’s hand while shielding her eyes from the horrific sights. Jinx, known as “Powder” originally, and Vi are revealed as children. Dust fills the air, and dead bodies litter the ground. The first episode: Welcome to the Playground starts with a haunting voice singing in the background. This article contain heavy spoilers for Arcane episode 1 (but no spoilers beyond episode 1).įor readers who have not watched the first episode yet, avoid this breakdown. Rather than exaggerating superhuman abilities, typical in the realm League of Legends, Arcane episode 1 accentuates the character’s weaknesses and vulnerabilities. Arcane creates context for champions that cements their humanity. Long-time players, on the other hand, can easily find intricate details and Easter eggs surrounding the champion’s character development. Those watching Arcane episode 1 without an understanding League of Legends lore find themselves perfectly capable of following the story. Arcane Episode 1 introduces the audience to the champions that they know and love. Though the story excels in its simple, almost black and white structure, Arcane’s first episode distinguishes itself with its incredible care for details. The series takes its time to build up the world of Piltover and Zaun from the world of League of Legends. Singed through the power of alchemy has been able to defeat even father time himself so maybe Silco takes on a new persona later on after the series.Riot game’s television series, Arcane, launched their first act. However, with the appearances of Jinx and Vi this show is clearly a prequel to the game. Silco is clearly middle-aged while Singed is said to be over hundreds of years old. The only difference between these two is the obvious age gap. ![]() Silco similar to Singed will stop at no length to get what he wants. In the trailer that was released, the purple serum that corrupted him is being used to infect other citizens. Silco’s eye was due to some sort of experimentation gone wrong but it’s unknown whether this was an accident or self-inflicted. They have similar facial structures and both have a blank left eye. From a physical perspective, they both share a striking resemblance. The similarities between Silco and Singed are uncanny. For the sake of his research, he went mad, eventually becoming the Singed that we know in the game. He often experimented on people, animals, and other living creatures. His alchemic research led him down a path of unscrupulous ethics. However, he lost favor amongst his peers and was forced to leave after funding had run out for his alchemic research.Īfter leaving Piltover he continued studying in the dark underbelly of Zaun. He was recognized early for his intellect which helped him receive admission to the University of Piltover. In the LoL universe, Singed is a mad scientist who would go to any length to achieve the desired result. We’ll get our answer from the series but till then let’s take a dive through the League of Legends lore. But is our introduction to this character really just the origin story of a familiar face? There’s been some talk about Silco and his relation to the champion Singed with those talks centered around whether they’re really the same person. In the new Netflix series Arcane, we’re introduced to the main antagonist Silco for the first time. Is Silco working with Singed or are they the same character?
